Ted Hobson has been a part of JEA since 1973. During his 45 years with JEA, Mr. Hobson has had experience in the areas of distribution, engineering, trouble dispatching, system operations, and system planning. He is currently responsible for the implementation, development, and maintenance of JEA’s Compliance Programs as well as the Physical Security and Audit Services and Enterprise Risk Management.

Mr. Hobson served as a board member for The Energy Authority from 1997 – 2011. Additionally, he is a representative for TEA’s Settlement and Operating Committee.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Hobson was the director of energy delivery. For over fifteen years, he has represented JEA with the Florida Reliability Coordinating Council (FRCC), and for the past six years, he has served as the chair of the Operating Committee and is an alternate Board Member. Mr. Hobson is also a member, and past chair, of the NERC Compliance and Certification Committee.

Mr. Hobson received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Florida and is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Florida.
