TEA Solutions, Inc., the newly formed sister company of The Energy Authority, has launched trading for its first client!

(JACKSONVILLE, FLA. - September 28, 2015) TEA Solutions is pleased to announce that it has begun trading for its first client, Energy Keepers, Inc. The relationship between TEA Solutions and Energy Keepers, Inc., a corporation wholly owned by the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, began developing in earnest nearly two years ago as the Tribes were taking steps to acquire ownership of the Kerr Dam hydroelectric project. With its mission to deliver solutions to a diverse range of community-owned power generators, TEA Solutions was uniquely positioned to partner with the Tribes to deliver energy management services for this project.

The final steps were completed for ownership transfer, including final FERC approval and co-licensee status to Energy Keepers, Inc. along with the Confederated Kootenai Salish Tribes. The actual ownership transfer of Kerr Dam took place on Saturday, September 5. Kerr Dam is the first hydroelectric project in the United States to be wholly owned by an American Indian Tribe.

"EKI is very excited about the opportunities that ownership of the Kerr Dam will bring to our communities. We are confident that our partnership with TEA Solutions ensures we will be successful in this new venture," said Brian Lipscomb, CEO of Energy Keepers, Inc.

"TEA Solutions looks forward to a long, productive relationship with Energy Keepers, Inc. It is our core mission to maximize the value of community-owned power entities' assets, and this opportunity demonstrates that value in an ever-evolving wholesale energy market," explained Joanie Teofilo, President and CEO of TEA Solutions.

TEA Solutions is the newly formed sister company of The Energy Authority. TEA Solutions was created to provide portfolio management, RTO trading, bilateral power trading, and power supply management to community-owned utilities. TEA Solutions leverages the capabilities of The Energy Authority, which is currently collaborating with 50 public power utilities nationwide to help them optimize the value of their generation and load portfolio in wholesale energy markets in a manner that is consistent with each utility's unique risk tolerances.
