As Vice President of Strategic Innovations and Chief Innovation Officer at The Energy Authority (TEA), Rob Trinnear leads a diverse team of professionals dedicated to finding opportunity within disruption. As a widely respected expert in risk management and financial derivatives, Rob’s knowledge and expertise afford him the foundation to create and deliver innovative solutions to TEA clients.
Rob and his team leverage advanced technical expertise and creative problem-solving to further strengthen TEA’s position as a hub of innovation in the public power arena. His unique perspective on the needs of public power help identify and leverage opportunities that exist for TEA clients today and in the future.
Since joining TEA, Rob has helped position TEA as the strategic partner of choice in providing energy solutions to public power. His leadership roles include Managing Director of East Trading, Account Director, and Director of Trading and Risk Management.
Prior to TEA, Rob was the Managing Director of Southern Horizon Consulting where he specialized in financial risk management, he was a Senior Trader for Tyson Foods, and he held trading and structured finance roles for Mirant Corporation. Rob holds a master’s degree in Finance from Georgia State University; a bachelor’s degree in Management from Trinity College, Dublin; an advanced diploma in Business Studies from the Dublin Institute of Technology; and an executive certificate in Strategy and Innovation from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
